Early Life and Career
Huw Edwards was born in Bridgend, Wales, in 1961. He studied English at the University of Aberystwyth and began his journalism career as a reporter for the BBC in 1984. He quickly rose through the ranks, becoming a newsreader on BBC Wales Today in 1988.
Edwards's career blossomed in the 1990s, when he became a regular presenter on the BBC's flagship news program, the Six O'Clock News. He also covered major events such as the 1997 general election and the death of Diana, Princess of Wales.

In 2003, Edwards was appointed the main anchor of the BBC's Ten O'Clock News. He has since become one of the most recognizable faces on British television, known for his calm and authoritative delivery.
Edwards has covered some of the biggest stories of the past two decades, including the 9/11 attacks, the Iraq War, and the COVID-19 pandemic. He has also interviewed some of the world's most famous people, including Barack Obama, Vladimir Putin, and the Dalai Lama.
Personal Life
Huw Edwards is married to Vicky Flind, a former BBC producer. They have two children together.
Edwards is a keen sportsman and enjoys playing golf and tennis. He is also a patron of the Welsh Rugby Union.
